Managing Your Progress

13 Jan

Welcome back, students! Your first week of Spring 2015 is underway. You may not realize it, but you have one more addition to your schedule: time each week spent managing your progress. Treat it as another half hour or so of work each week, though most of the time it will just require a few minutes of honest assessment and jotting down notes.

Managing your progress means staying on top of your financial aid, evaluating your progress with regards to your goals, staying on top of your progress in your current classes, keeping track of your graduation requirements, and getting your portfolio in shape.

Here’s the cool part. Each week, as you look at your progress, you’ll see gains. Don’t forget to acknowledge your accomplishments and victories—both great and small—each week!

Here are some tips from faculty and staff on how to keep moving forward:

1. Don’t procrastinate. Need help? Check out this site.

2. Be proactive. If you have a problem, stop and fix it. Get help before a little issue grows up into a big one.

3. Be positive. Surround yourself with positive people. Avoid drama. As Bruce Lee said, “As you think, so shall you become.”
