Need Math Help?

17 Nov

Don’t wait until your last semester to figure out how to knock out the prerequisites for the Math and Accounting classes needed to graduate with your Paralegal Technology A.A.S. degree. Durham Tech offers the NCDAP math placement test on these dates at the testing center, which is located in the Phail Wynn, Jr. Student Services Center in room 1302. The test is free to Durham Tech students, but students can take the test only twice in a five year period. To make those tests count, prepare for them using some of the resources listed on Durham Tech’s Test Preparation page.

If you’re already in a math class and need a little help, contact your instructor to get a signed referral to the Center for Academic Excellence. If you can’t meet with a tutor during CAE hours, online tutoring through Upswing is available on a limited basis. Another option is the Developmental Math Computer Lab, which is located in the Collins Building, in room 208 on the Main Campus. It operates on a walk-in basis and services are free to Durham Tech students. If any of these options will help propel you towards your goals, get the ball rolling by talking to your instructor or advisor first.
