NCAJ Mock Trial Volunteers Needed

14 Jan

The North Carolina Paralegal Association is looking for volunteers to help run the North Carolina Advocates for Justice mock trial in Durham. According to the NCAJ, the program is a statewide effort to “educate North Carolina High School students about our system of justice and trial by jury by turning courtrooms into classrooms and connecting students with attorneys and judges in the hands-on learning laboratory of the courthouse.” Volunteers will help with setting up, monitoring courtrooms, and directing participants to courthouse locations.

The program is scheduled for Saturday, February 1st in Durham. Although the program runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m, volunteers can work as long or as little as they prefer.  It’s a great way to help the next generation learn about our legal system.

To find out more, visit NCmocktrial.org. To volunteer, contact Patti Clapper, NCPA President, at lglduck@aol.com. Not a DTCC paralegal student but want to get involved with this outstanding program? Visit the NCAJ “get involved” page.
