3 Month Contract
Pay Rate: $27-30/hr, w2
Work Environment: General Office

Shift Requirements: Day / Hrs of Work: 40 Hours/Week

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Patent Preparation and Prosecution
  •  Assisting patent attorneys in the preparation and filing of US, PCT, and foreign National Phase patent applications and accompanying documents both electronically and via conventional paper filings with the USPTO and other patent offices as appropriate;
  • Assisting patent attorneys in the preparation of draft responses to office actions, restriction requirements, Information Disclosure Statements, formalities, etc.
  • Preparing correspondence relative to a patent attorney?s communication with outside U.S. and foreign counsel;
  •  Managing and maintaining dockets and docket reports for multiple attorneys, keeping abreast of due dates
  •  Maintaining patent files, including keeping abreast of all emails and other correspondence from outside counsel, inventors and others relative to each patent case.
  • Assisting patent attorneys in the preparation of license and other IP-related agreements

Office Administrative Duties

  • Establishing, updating and maintaining files and records, including opening and closing files; implementing and maintaining data management systems. Processing a variety of highly confidential information.
  • Scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars; scheduling, coordinating and facilitating meetings, web conferences; telephone coverage;
  • Arranging travel for attorneys and preparing expense reports;
  •  Office supply procurement and physical resource management;
  • Under the direction of an attorney, preparation of reports, presentations, documents, and group projects;
  • Attaining comprehensive knowledge of organizational policies, practices, procedures and applying to daily office management;
  • Procuring check requests when needed;
  • eBilling?act as billing coordinator for NOL/P group including matter creation and associated tasks incidental to managing invoices for legal services rendered by outside counsel.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years experience in providing administrative support in a legal/business environment;
  • Advanced experience in MS Office applications;
  • Multi-task oriented and able to manage tight deadlines;
  • Experience managing patent prosecution matters preferred;
  • Experience with IP docket/management systems preferred
  • Experience using Lotus Notes and SAP a plus
  • Experience managing/directing office staff a plus
